The Company is a leading developer of fully-integrated Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) and billing systems for the medical imaging market.

Transaction Overview:

The primary owners of Empiric were classic entrepreneurs who had built a growing and profitable business but had a desire to sell the company in order to pursue other start-up opportunities. As a result, the Company engaged Trestle to seek an outright sale of the business.

Results:

Trestle undertook an extensive marketing process that included a large number of potential financial and strategic acquirors. The Company was sold to the US division of a large Asian corporation in a cash deal that included an initial cash payment as well as two earn-out payments based on revenue targets and technology integration. Both earn-out payments were earned in full.
