The Company provides professional support across a continuum of key services and functions to editorial offices, publishers, and societies.
The Company’s owners had built a strong and growing business but were concerned about proactively finding an acquiror who could continue to expand the business upon their eventual transition out of active management. The Company had been approached in the past by a potential suitor interested in exploring a transaction. Trestle was asked to engage with that suitor while also identifying other potential strategic and private equity partners to provide the owners with a wide range of potential options.
Trestle performed a targeted marketing process that focused on strategic acquirors in the content and publishing services industry as well as private equity groups that had either a stated interest or a platform company in the space. The Company was sold to a publicly traded corporation in a cash deal. The Company continues to operate as a distinct entity within the larger organization. The owners and key management were retained in the transaction and have been able to both manage ongoing Company operations and pursue expanded opportunities within the acquiring entity.
